The Sonoran Desert Faerie Dust Clan wanted to adventure to the Ft Lowell Historic Park today …. Kermie and Piggy tagged along for the ride (all cuddled up in my pant pocket) ….  Scout and Belle flew ahead to scope out the pond to find if we had any cute visitors to see … Kermie and Piggy the two “love birds”  sat and watched from the near-by tree, all snuggly, even after all of these years.  Gabby asked them what their secret to a good relationship was and Kermie said, “When Piggy gets a temper, I just let her vent.  Then I hop over to near-by lilly pad and find a flower and hop it back over to her.”  Gabby giggled with delight at Kermie’s simple plan … must be working.

Kermie and Piggy chose a mesquite tree in which to spend the morning while me and the Faerie Dust Clan went to take some photos by the pond.   Button leapt by and as he did sang, quite loudly I might add, “Kermie and Piggy sittin’ in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!”   Everyone, including the resident ducks, thought it humorous and we heard quacking all around us at Button’s silly song.

We all quietyl observed Mama swimmin’ with her ducklings … Twig flew over, landed on my shoulder and asked, “Well, if the sign says “No Swimming” how come the ducks are in the pond?”  Very good question, I thought to myself …. I said, “Do ducks read?”  He said, “Well, I know some animals read, like Pooh Bear … he was reading Piglet a story the other day … so maybe Ducks can read too …”   Belle said, “The quickest way to find out is to ask them?”    So we waddled over to Mama and ducklings and asked, “Can you read?”   They quacked to us that Yes indeed they could read.  So Twig said, “Well, then, what about the sign that says “No Swimming” on it?”    She quacked and said, “Oh, that! That is for the two-legged humans (no offense, Shannon) that hang around here.  They are supposed to keep out of our home.”   Ahhhh …. Twig nodded his head now understanding.

On the other side of the Pond we happened upon Henry the Turtle who looked as if he were in search of something that he couldn’t find.   Scout flew out to him, being a faerie of great tracking skills and said, “Can I help you find something … I have a pretty good view when I fly up higher.”   Henry thanked Scout and replied, “Actually, good faerie fellow, I was doing my morning exercises … I do pull ups on this here fixture and it keeps me agile and young.”    Ahhhhh …. now we see 😉

Gabby leapt over to Button …. “Come look , come look and see … this is what your Mom needs to do to teach you!”   They headed over to the Mama Duck and her little one … both had just had a bath in the pond and were grooming themselves …. We heard Mama say, “Now, don’t forget to scratch under your chin!”   Button said to Gabby, “Whatcha tryin’ to say?”   Gabby grinned … “Your mom is always trying to get you to clean behind your ears but you never listen … maybe now you’ll listen to Mama Duck!”  He just rolled his faerie eyes, tossed his wings back and pouted off to the other end of the park.  Don’t worry though, he didn’t stay mad for long … not with a game of tag that started up.

Well … that’s it for our latest Faerie Dust and Muppet Adventures … we hoped you enjoyed and don’t forget to clean behind your ears!

  1. Romance is in the air. I love Kermit and Miss Piggy. It’s not easy being green.
