“A Circle of Healing”

Bringing mind and matter together to synthesize healing and wholeness.  These things can be important on some people’s path to healing themselves.  One of the ancient methods used in healing is the use of walking in Labyrinths.  Indigenous and ancient cultures all over the globe have some form of Labyrinth present in their passages of healing.

Walking a Labyrinth is about connecting with yourself, God, Source and what is inside of you.  As you walk into the Labrynth, you bring who you are in that moment.  You may be walking in just to say “hi” to yourself and Source, Spirit.  You may be bringing God a burden you want to release.  You may be walking in to release a grief that is close to your heart.  You may just want to celebrate the journey you are on.  The journey into the Labyrinth ends and begins at the center where you meet yourself.  As you walk back out, you are a new person and have gained greated connection and awareness to yourself and your relationship to Earth, Spirit, Cosmos.

We are also learning now how if the mind participates in an activity through the use of “imagination”, the brain has been shown to have the same neurologic responses as if it had actually done an activity.  The reason I bring this up in this particular blog, and thank you for being patient with me, is about integration of the two.

Labyrinth of Healing by Amy Jo

My friend, Amy, emailed me a picture that she drew today.  She wanted to walk a Labyrinth; however, there is not one available to walk in where she resides.  She, creatively I might add, drew a Labyrinth and walked through it with her fingers – as if she herself – was standing inside it walking.  Of course, by using her fingers, which have neurological connection to the brain, the synapses fired rapidly transporting her inside the heart of the Labrynth and thus she was able to walk inside the Labyrinth regardless of whether or not her whole body was stepping into an actual one or not.

Here is an awesome example of integrating the magic of connection with God within the use of the Labyrinth and the scientific techonology of healing by using the power of IMAGINATION!  Thank you Amy for sharing your drawing with me and my readers.  We greatly appreciate it.

There’s a link on my blog roll to:

    Happiness: Edgar Cayce A.R.E.

At the Association for Research and Enlightenment, there is a labyrinth outside for visitors to use. It’s filled with positive energy.

Thank you for sharing Nancy 😉 .. I love the work that A.R.E. does. There are a couple of great Labyrinths here in Tucson I get to walk as well that I really love.

  3. The mind is a powerful healing agent. It can also cause illness. We can play a big part in our own recoveries from illness by utilizing healing agents we believe will work.

This is so true and have actually seen how my mind is able to do both. I, of course, prefer the former. It is definitely a challenging growth process which requires constant awareness until we are able to more continuously live in the Now. 😉
